In Loving Memory of Moo

ree

As many of you know, we recently shared the passing of our beloved shop cat, Moo.

Over the past few days, we have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from our friends, neighbors, and community. Thank you to everyone who has shared memories, offered kind words, and reminded us how much Moo impacted everyone he met!

Moo was a man of the streets, a creature full of contradictions, and a perfect embodiment of the duality of a cat. At times, he was the bold adventurer (Mr. Steal Your Human) swaggering through the streets like the mayor of Barrio Logan. At other times, he was soft and docile, a lil chunky and happy bundle of purrs curled up in contortionist-envied positions in the hammock of the shop window.

Moo loved the simple joys: rolling in the dirt, climbing trees, hunting bugs, and stomping across the piano keys with the flair of a true musician. He was endlessly playful and endlessly loved. Regulars came into Libélula as much to give Moo pets and treats as they did to browse the shelves. He loved to bother his sister Billi, to explore the neighborhood, and most of all, to remind us that life is meant to be lived fully, joyfully, and on your own terms.

Though Moo is no longer here to greet us at the door or keep us company as we read, his spirit will remain woven into the soul of this place. You will still feel him in the sunlit window where he lounged, at the front entrance where he coyly rolled around, enticing people to come inside, and in the warmth and love that fill Libélula. His presence will also live on in the streets of Logan, where he found his freedom and charm.

Grief has no set course, and for those of us who loved Moo, it will take time to adjust to his absence. Sharing stories of his silly, sweet, and stubborn sides keep him alive in our community!

Overall, Moo was more than just a cat.  He was our companion, our manager, our rascal, our cow. He will be missed fiercely and remembered fondly. May his spirit always curl up in the heart of the shop and in the neighborhood he loved.

Rest in peace, Moo.
